We're attending the Landscape Revival Native Plant Expo and Market in Roseville, Minnesota, for our second year! We will be selling our native plants along with a dozen other growers. In addition, there will be people from the University of Minnesota Bee Lab, Monarch Joint Venture, Wild Ones, Blue Thumb, and other pollinator-friendly organizations. Come early for the best selection of plants, and then stay to learn about the wildlife that will benefit from your plantings!
Join us for our second annual on-farm plant sale and open house! We'll have a wide selection of native plants and organic vegetable starts for your home gardens. Our inventory has doubled since last year, with over 100 species of native plants and 50 varieties of vegetables. We grow everything here on the farm - nothing is brought in from wholesale dealers. Come early for the best selection.
Plants are sold in 2.5" and 3.5" pots, as well as 6-packs. Smaller pots are $2.50 each or 5 for $10. Larger pots are $3 each or 4 for $10. 6-packs are all $4.Tax is included. We accept cash, check, or credit cards - Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
In addition to the plant sale, we hope you will take advantage of this "open house" opportunity. Informal farm tours will also happen throughout the day, so feel free to pack a picnic lunch and get to know the farm.
On behalf of the Cannon River Sustainable Farming Association (SFA), we're hosting a potluck at our farm on Monday, March 6 at 6:30. We thought it would be timely to talk about transplant production on vegetable farms, so bring your ideas, challenges, and questions to the conversation. Not a vegetable farmer? Come anyway! This topic is just a jumping-off point—our main goal is to spend time with farmers in our community.
Join us for an end-of-season gathering on the farm! We'll kick off the evening with a farm tour at 4:30, and then follow up with a potluck. This event offers a chance to interact with your farm and farmers, socialize with the broader CSA community, and provide us with feedback about the season. Please bring a dish to share and lawn chairs and/or a picnic blanket. We encourage you to bring your own plates and silverware, but we'll also have disposables available. We welcome anyone who may be interested in joining the CSA next season, so feel free to bring a friend or two who may want more information. Note: We love dogs, but please leave your furry family members at home. Looking forward to seeing you!
Come visit us at the Sogn Valley Craft Fair, where you can shop for pottery, paintings, jewelry, and locally-grown produce. The event is free and features live music. There couldn't be a more idyllic time of year to visit the beautiful region of Sogn Valley.
Next Saturday we'll be participating in a raingarden workshop in Faribault, MN. This will be an opportunity to learn how to beautify your property by planting for clean water and for pollinators. There will be a 1-hour presentation by landscape professionals from Blue Thumb/Metro Blooms and the City of Faribault, followed by break-out sessions in small groups with native plant growers and other landscapers. In these small groups, we can discuss details about how to incorporate native plants and install raingardens in your own landscape. The event is free, but space will be limited. Contact Faribault Public Works to register: 507-333-0361, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
